It all boils down to results.

Home Theater Overview

We received a call one day a couple of months ago from an electrical contractor we have worked with on several projects.  He had a relative with a home theater that was ready for an upgrade.  When we went to survey the room, we snapped a couple of pictures to work with.  Here is how the room looked originally.

Though the original home theater was functional, it could definitely stand some improvement.  The client’s primary concern was the space didn’t match the rest of the home’s decor.  Further, the area lacked the look and feel of a home theater.
Among the issues we saw with the room, the exposed equipment didn’t match the decor of the rest of the home, the wiring needed some attention, the book shelves with all the DVD cases were cluttering the space, and the pole mounted projector really made too much of the tech visible.
We opted to remodel the room by adding new front cabinets to enclose the surround equipment, house the front speakers and subwoofer, and frame the movie screen. This made the primary focal point, the stage, naturally draw the eye’s attention.
The front cabinet and speaker enclosures tie together visually, framing the screen very cleanly, while affording the perfect place to house the surround equipment and speakers.  And as always, careful attention was paid to heat management with the inclusion of exhaust fans.
We also added wood columns and fabric panels with sconces to add points of interest along the walls and make the space feel larger and more elegant.
Finally, adding a soffit around the room, space was made for exposed wood beams with inset accent lights.  The soffit also made a perfect space to conceal the projector.Crestron Prodigy Home Theater Remote
We chose to keep the original projector since its specs were pretty good.  We added an Integra DTR-50.2 surround receiver.  We also upgraded the BluRay player to an Integra DBS-30.1, and added an AppleTV.  KCINEMA-1 Kaleidescape Movie ServerMost notable, we included a Kaleidescape  KCINEMA-1 movie server to help manage their DVD collection.
We opted for a  Crestron Prodigy remote and processor since the level of control and processing was very light.  We also added lighting control to the room using Prodigy dimmers.  The system is easy to use, easy to program and does a fantastic job.
I must say, though we’ve been doing this work for a long time, the results are absolutely stunning.  THIS is job satisfaction!
We love what we do!
